Dezarai Brubaker, Director
Dezarai brings over 12 years of conference and event planning expertise to Conference & Event Services (CES). As a two-time graduate of Colorado State University, she takes great pride in partnering with the University community and is proud to represent the University to guests. Dezarai handles all new business inquiries, responds to request for proposals, arranges site tours, and with her staff, strategically plans for the future of the organization. Dezarai is active in the Association of Collegiate Conference and Events Directors-International (ACCED-I) and has served as Regional Director and has received her Collegiate Conference and Events Professional (CCEP) designation. She also serves as a board member for the Fort Collins Convention and Visitors Bureau and and is a Certified Tourism Ambassador.
Lisa Lytle, Assistant Director
Lisa excitedly joins the CES team at Colorado State. Returning to her alma mater, she brings over 8 years of event planning experience both in the private and public sector. As a northern Colorado native, Lisa is committed to developing and maintaining strong relationships with CSU and community partners. She oversees the student conference assistants, as well as coordinates a variety of camps and conferences such as CSU Men’s Basketball, Colorado Bike MS 150, CRU, National Youth Conference and more.
Barbara Lorenz, Business Manager
Barbara earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Colorado State, and is a proud RAM. She has over 20 years of experience working with Housing operations including 15 years at CSU’s Mountain Campus. Barb is responsible for administrating the financial services that are provided to participants, sponsors, and vendors for all CES programs.
Beth Gordon, Guest Services Manager
Beth comes to CES with over 8 years of conference and event experience. She is a proud graduate of the University of Montana and also has a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University. Being a native of Colorado, she is excited to be back in her home state and working with the CSU family. Beth trains and supervises the student Guest Services Team to provide excellent customer service to the summer conference guests. She also schedules and coordinates for meetings and events in the Durrell Center while overseeing the front desk staff operations in that building.
Lauren Ankarlo, Conference & Event Coordinator
As a CSU Alumni and a native of Colorado, Lauren brings her love for the area into her conference and event coordination. With over nine years of event planning and coordination experience, she is excited to help with all the small organizational details, all the way up to the big picture logistics that are needed to make your event a success. Lauren is the staff advisor to the on-campus student organization Up ‘til Dawn that raises money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and she enjoys mentoring and leading the students while passing on her event planning knowledge. Lauren's conferences include the Construction Management Career Fair, Road Scholars Choral, Pathways to Success, and the Colorado High School Activities Association Leadership Camp.
Candace Hufford, Conference & Event Coordinator
Candace lives for the event planning and hospitality industry and has been connected to it for over nine years in both the private and public sectors. A Kansas native, Candace earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management from Kansas State University and has achieved her credential as a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP). Her passion for customer service and developing relationships is what drives her, and she is committed to collaborating with faculty, staff, administration, the city of Fort Collins, and her team to make each conference a success. Candace provides logistical and administrative support for over twenty conferences each year, including Women’s Basketball Camps, 4-H State Conference, the National Hispanic Institute Lorenzo de Zavala Youth Legislative Session, CSU Marching Band Camp, and Little Kids Rock.
Briana Russell, Conference & Event Coordinator
Briana moved to Fort Collins and joined the Conference & Event Services team in 2015. She has 8 years of diverse experience working with the event, conference, hotel service, and residence life industries. Briana earned her Bachelor’s degree in Event Planning and Tourism from Bowling Green State University and her Masters of Business from the University of Mississippi. She has a strong drive to provide exceptional service, and is passionate to create a positive impact on campus and the surrounding community. Briana provides coordination for many conferences during the year, including Rocky Mountain Meter School, ENvision Campos, Summer Study, Prove It! Math Academy, and more.
Dakota Schuppe, Registration Coordinator
Dakota’s love for events started when she was young, working for her mom’s catering company. To continue her experience in the event industry, she began work at CES as a freshman at CSU, working as a Conference Assistant and Administrative Assistant throughout college. After receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in English with a secondary field in Recreation & Tourism, as well as her Wedding & Event Planning Certification, she joined CES professional staff as a proud CSU Alumni. She falls more in love with campus every day, and enjoys her work with the registration side of conferences and events, managing websites, onsite registrations, and front desk operations.
